A Rare 407 Traffic Jam
Yesterday evening during rush hour, some tractor trailer rolled over on Brock Road just south of the exit of Ontario’s only toll-highway, the 407. It was the very last exit and a usually heavily-trafficked area, as many take Brock Rd. down to Taunton Rd. and/or the Pickering area; as a result, traffic was at a complete stop-n-go for more than a kilometre west of the Brock Rd. Exit. For all the times I’ve traveled on the 407, I have never encountered such congestion.
Then as I slowly crept forward with the hundreds of other cars listening to 680 News to find out what was going on, I couldn’t help put take a snapshot of such irony.
Not to mention the poor grammar in the sign making the irony of the whole situation so much more amusing. (I actually lost 30 mins, thus making the total time lost more than an hour if you include the 30+ mins I save taking the 407 instead of Hwy. 7 or Steeles Avenue).
P.S. I usually average 130km/h on this highway, and traffic is generally at least 120km/h. This is where I got my ticket.
