A couple things to note:

  1. Please excuse the possible vitriol that may plague this post. Apologies.
  2. Most days, I drive around, come home at night and write about a particular driving experience if I find it worthy of retelling (or if I’m not too lazy), watch some Daxflame to have a laugh, then sleep happily dreaming stuff that one might see while tripping out on acid. But not today. No, this post is very personal, and I take absolutely NO remorse or regret for what I am about to write. I may come off as selfish or self-centred, but you would be too if your loved ones faced danger of being harmed and were subsequently blamed by the perpetrators.
  3. As for the legalities, Angry Chinese Driver does not condone or encourage in an way criminal activity as a result of this article (and any other article, for that matter) being read. PART ONE: THE ACCIDENT

Exactly three weeks ago, my dear mother drove me back to residence right after New Year’s, as classes were starting the next day (York is funny like that, and by “funny” I mean “cruel”). I carried all my stuff up to my room, during which time my mom texted me to let me know that while she was searching for a parking spot, her car was just hit by another car. I ran back downstairs, anxious to find out how bad the accident was, and saw a Honda Civic with a big, bad scratch on the right corner of the back bumper and my car with a slight dent and big scratch right in the middle of the driver’s side. But it was only until recently that I was able to find out exactly what happened, and also dig out more info of my own.

My mom was driving along the lot when all of a sudden, a beige-coloured Civic backed out and dinged her side right as she passed; my mom could only honk, she couldn’t even stop in time to avoid being hit. And it was a good thing she couldn’t stop in time, because if she did then she would have gotten hit right on her side. And if she had gotten injured, there’s no saying that I wouldn’t have punched the driver hard in the face.

Following the incident, my mom and the driver — a middle-aged Chinese woman — had a sort-of fight over who was at fault: the Civic driver claimed that my mother was “driving too fast to stop in time”, while my mom simply stated over and over “I was on the road, you were backing out of a parking space into me.” (I really don’t know how I could have managed to be as patient as her, though she was absolutely furious). No cops were called, and my mom being a nice (unfortunately, in this case) lady, consented to following-up with the other driver about damage payments, who refused to sign the form acknowledging that she was at fault and said that she wanted to go home and talk with her husband first. Unsurprisingly, the bitch refused more aggressively to pay even a single cent over the phone after the incident.

And what could my family do? Nothing, thanks to no-fault insurance that would penalize us as well. But let me make it clear that I’m not a man of inaction, especially when it comes to personal issues; since no real justice can be brought to these assholes (the driver and her husband), I’ll serve up my own the best I can: a blatant invasion of privacy. What follows is the full disclosure of this bitch’s personal, car, and insurance info; I really couldn’t care less whose hands this gets into.

NAME: Jing Ye

ADDRESS: 174 Stave Cres., Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4C 0S8

DRIVER’S LICENSE #: Y2001 40207 45729

INSURANCE COMPANY: Unifund Assurance Johnson Inc.

INSURANCE POLICY #: A087AB0428

If you see this car, don’t hesitate to get a little “creative”. I know I certainly would have my keys at a perpendicular angle to the car body, and if I had time I wouldn’t mind spending a carton of eggs and mayo to “spice up” the entire car, especially the door handles. After all, you never know when this bitch will ram you and blame everything on you, and you’ll be regretting that time when you passed by the Civic with a box of milk in your hands and did nothing.

Some of you might be asking if the kid at my residence would be pissed seeing his mom’s personal info on the internet for all to see — including vandals and car jackers (Honda Civics are the most stolen cars in Canada!!). Well, to be perfectly honest, for all I know this kid could be the coolest person in the entire world, but as far as I’m concerned his/her mom is a total bitch for almost hurting my mom (in which case I could possibly have a criminal record for assault against the driver by now) and then blaming the crash on my mom. I wouldn’t think twice about fucking up her car if given the opportunity.

Here’s a picture of the detailed info of that stupid bitch driver in case you’d like to print it off and distribute it all around, warning everyone you know about the assholes who infect our roads. (Click for full-size.)

Hey $500 isn’t too bad. The first time my roof blew off onto my car, I had to pay $1000 for repairs, even though the home builders were at fault (”Uh guys, maybe we should’ve put hurricane clips on.”). My sister’s car ended up costing another $8000, since it was nailed by a huge chunk o’ roof/wall. Yeah, my deductible sucks.

I know how irritating this must be, but this a minor occurrence in the grand scheme of things. Don’t they teach you “what goes around, comes around” in CAN? The dbag that hit you will probably be on the receiving end the next time she gets into an accident. If there’s one thing you can have faith in, it’s the government will screw everyone equally :).

You need to report this to insurance. No-fault doesn’t mean no-one is at fault. See http://www.kanetix.ca/what-is-no-fault-auto-insurance. Check http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/regs/english/elaws_regs_900668_e.htm for the fault determination rules. According to section 16.4 Ms. Ye is at fault. Your mother is 0% at fault. She won’t need to pay the deductable and it won’t count as an at-fault accident for her when determining insurance rates so her rates will remain unchanged. You should get your car fixed free. Meanwhile Ms. Ye rates will likely go up.
