Let me start off by telling you that I’m on Facebook for the entire time in a day that I’m awake. When I’m not at my VAIO, I’ve got my cell phone to keep me updated. So unsurprisingly, I’m part of (or I’ve at least come across) the most popular groups in this site.
Now, I’ve got a question for you: What do the Toronto, ON network, When I was your age, Pluto was a planet., Canada vs. America – The count to one million, and even that stupid “Facebook is being shut down” group (you didn’t actually think I’d give you the link to that group, did you?) all have in common? You got it, there is always some ass who feels the need to start flame wars (in which thousands of people get sucked into) about religion by unnecessarily posting his unimportant views against the all-mighty Creator, and along the process taking cheap shots at those who differ from him.
I’m okay with those who do not believe (though I personally feel that they’re missing out), but the line of acceptableness is crossed when one of them starts hating on those would follow Christianity, which is what atheists normally target. Everyone has their own beliefs and opinions, it doesn’t give these idiots the right to insult others for being different. I’m not saying that religious people are necessarily more open-minded than atheists, but you see a lot more “Give me ONE reason why god exists” than “Give me ONE reason why God does not exist” topics in discussion boards.
And besides, why don’t these losers have anything better to do with their lives? What the hell does Pluto’s [former] existence as a planet or Facebook being “shut down” have ANYTHING to do with religion? I’ll tell you: nothing, period.
So atheists, many of you who are hippies or ultra-liberal people, please just shut up and do what you normally do, like promote the killing of babies and the legalization of drugs that do not find a place in a civilized society. Thanks. (Feel insulted? You just got a taste of your own medicine.)

Well, you may want to consider that not all atheists are the same. I personally respect both views, and wouldn’t ever argue about it nor hate anyone.
It really all depends on the person. Your article may have also been a bit biased– are you an atheist?
I know not all atheists are the same, it’s not my business whether one believes or not. But those who don’t shut up about God “not existing” (and also to those who raise hell on atheists – “you’re going to hell if you don’t believe!!!”) are just plain annoying, and they post the same crap just about everywhere.
Many hippies and ultra-liberals? Please, cover your ignorance and attempted bigotry, it’s making me laugh too hard! Yet another christian who wants all the feelie-goodie-goodies of his religion with no inconveniences. Sorry!
Like you comment is any less irritating to others. Go boil your head, twit.
Only losers like those have time to bring up religion (or lack thereof) where it’s completely irrelevant.
This isn’t about what one believes; it’s about people going OUT of their way to trash others for not having the same beliefs, in this case these people being atheists.
Neil you’re an ass. I agree with ACD. I feel the need to follow up what Neil had to say, however. I’m a Christian but I know that there are many hardships and challenges in life. There are many inconveniences. Christians don’t always live the most glamorous lives but that’s not what we care about. I think Neil is confused because he doesn’t understand that in the end things will be ok for believers but a different story will be for the non believers. Christians look forward to the day of judgement, the day when their faithfulness brings them to eternal paradise. In the true reality, atheists, like Neil, will find that the unfaithfulness is an “inconvenience.” He will realize Christians weren’t trying to gain all the so called “feelie-goodie-goodies without inconveniences” we are expressing our joy, coming from the knowledge that we will have eternal happiness. It saddens me to think that there will be those who will be missing out on this. Everyone should be able to feel the love, but some would rather be left out in the cold. If that is the path you choose then so be it. I would much rather live knowing there is a Lord and find out there isn’t than to live like there wasn’t a Lord and find out that there is, and and believe me, there is.
as an atheist… (and one who votes conservative, for what its worth…) i couldn’t agree more.
Thanks for being atheist and accepting. Please keep being cool with this…
Nearly everything can be connected to religion, so I wouldn’t find it odd if someone somewhere gets out of their way to unveil that connection only to start a debate on something they have a passionate standing on. I would argue that both atheists and theists are continuously guilty of this “crime”. Neil, get over yourself. Justin, get over yourself.
As for me (since an above commenter has felt it necessary to discuss Christian eternal happiness and such, and I couldn’t help but give you my 0.02 dollar) I’d rather live my life after the evidence that nature has given us so far and later uncover new material that justifies the belief in a higher deity and thus be proven “wrong”, rather than believe in something (or someone) simply to provide a philosophical question with what in the end will turn out to be a false answer.
A very mature and thought-out answer to those morons. Thank you for stoppin’ by…
A triple comment!
Well, thank you for stopping by.

*Applause* Amen to that, buddy!!
